Enjoy and learn two of Nadia Gamal's grand choreographies.
The dance styles presented include Oriental Dance, Folklore, Basic Beledi, Drum Solo, and Bedouin Gypsy.
The first is an Oriental "Raks Sharki" Dance, the second a Bedouin "Folkloric" Dance.

Nadia Gamal (1937 - 1990) was one of the most magnificent artists of La Danse Orientale in the twentieth century.
Critically acclaimed wherever she performed, be it in the Arab world or in the West, she brought the power and passion of the dance to a new threshold: Oriental Dance as art.
Known as "The Dancer's Dancer", Nadia had a multi-faceted career: A star of the poshest night-clubs, concert stages, festivals, films (in acting roles as well as dance), and for years was palace dancer of King Hussein of Jordan and the late Shah of Iran.

Being a friend of Ibrahim Farrah's, Nadia Gamal agreed to do a workshop for Oriental dancers in the United States.
Her first workshop in New York (1978), Nadia had never taught dance, but her distinguished background in the arts made her a natural teacher. Her teaching experience in the United States led her to open the first school of Oriental dance in Beirut which she directed until her untimely death. This video, Ms. Gamal's second workshop in New York City (1981), is the only workshop videotaped from this grand star.
